Dr. William Moritz, noted authority on experimental animation
and visual music will introduce a selection of 16mm and 35mm
films from the iotaCenter's collection.
Highlights of the screening include
--- a hand-painted film record from 1903 of a dance by
visual music artist, Loie Fuller, the darling of Paris'=20
Folies Bergere
---a film record of Charles Dockum performing live on the
visual music instrument he invented in the 30's and 40's,
the Dockum Mobilcolor Projector
---from the legendary Vortex Concerts, produced by artist Jordon
Belson and composer Henry Jacobs for the Morrison Planetarium
in San Francisco in the 1950s, two films: High Voltage by James
Whitney and Allures by Jordan Belson
---a rare presentation in 35mm of Oskar Fischinger's tour de force,=20
from 1937, Optical Poem
